Katey Sagal
Katey Sagal, a gifted and versatile performer who could do both drama and comedy as well as singing, became a popular name in the 1980s, when she appeared in the role of Peg Bundy. She was the eloquently open, unorthodox Peg Bundy on Fox's Married... with Children (1987). She was awarded two American Comedy Award nominations and three Golden Globes during its long run. Peg Bundy might have been recognizable however Katey wanted to keep her acting career even after the show ended. Katey starred in other sitcoms as well as television films. She played Gemma Teller Morrow in Sons of Anarchy (2008) as the matriarch of the Hell's Angels-like California biker family. Her performance in 2011 won her the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series Drama. Catherine Louise Sagal was born on the 19th of January 1954, the daughter of singer and director Sara Zwilling and noted television and film director Boris Sagal. Los Angeles native Catherine Louise Sagal began performing at the tender age of 5. She went on to study voice and acting at the California Institute of the Arts. She was a singing waitress in her "salad" times. After performing in "The Group Without a Name," she got a break when she teamed up with Gene Simmons and KISS, the 1970s' rock group. She was also an alternate vocalist for Simmons as well as other famous stars such as Bob Dylan, Olivia Newton-John and Tanya Tucker. She was also dynamic in live performances together with Bette Midler in the wild stage show of Bette Midler of the late 1970s/early 1980s.
